Some stories live quietly in the back of your mind for years. They shift and stretch, waiting for the right form, the right voice, the right question to bring them to life.
For me, that story became The Quantum Veil.
Set against the stark beauty of Los Alamos and the surrounding New Mexico mountains, the book explores what happens when science crosses a threshold it was never meant to approach. Quantum physics, artificial intelligence, and something more ancient—more unknowable—collide in a place already steeped in history and secrecy.
This past week, I was honored to learn that The Quantum Veil was selected as one of the Judges’ Top Picks for the 2025 Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Awards in the Best Supernatural Thriller category.
The Judges’ Top Picks are chosen from among hundreds of entries. According to Killer Nashville, these are the books that lingered — the ones that “stirred something” and “left the judges wanting more.” I’m grateful that The Quantum Veil was one of them.
If you’re curious about the book, you can find it here on Amazon.
And if you’re one of the readers or early reviewers — thank you. Your support helped this strange story find its way into the world.

Coming Fall 2025: The Forbidden Strain
When a government official is found dead in a Santa Fe hotel, FBI agent Liz Shaw is pulled into a mystery that leads deep into the New Mexico desert—and deeper still into a secret lab buried beneath tribal land. Red Mesa Biotechnics was supposed to save the planet. Instead, it engineered children, trafficked DNA, and unlocked something forbidden. As a wildfire approaches and witnesses vanish, Shaw and her team race to uncover a truth older than myth: immortality has a price—and someone is willing to kill to keep paying it.
